3.7 Designs recently launched its latest project, a new website design created for the The Cecchetti Council of America; an organization dedicated to maintaining the standards and method of ballet training established by Cav. Enrico Cecchetti. The new website was officially launched on November 7, 2012, and can be viewed at http://www.cecchetti.org/.

The Cecchetti Council of America began as a nonprofit educational association in 1951, and was a pioneer in the United States for adapting a uniform system of teaching and examinations. The Cecchetti method that is offered through its program is described as a classic, clear-cut style of dancing, obtained through a rigorous ballet training method designed to pay special attention to the laws of anatomy. Through its persistence in raising the quality of ballet teaching, it has produced outstanding teaches, as well as students, who have danced professionally in ballet companies across the world.

The website contains information regarding recent newsupcoming eventsproducts & materialsmembershipsummer schools, and contact information; in addition to links concerning studentteacher, and general information.

Local News Publication Gets Mobiltastic

Posted on: July 20, 2012 |

July 2012, Ann Arbor, Michigan — They say “…news has changed forever…” I’m not sure who “they” are but I agree. In some ways, the changes are bad. There are very respectable publications that currently struggle to remain profitable (I’m looking at you NY Times.) In other ways, the revolution of the newsphere is beautiful and liberating. There is no better example of good change than the Ann Arbor Chronicle. Where some would be content to sit and complain about the news, Mary Morgan and Dave Askins decided they could do it better. Thus began their online only news publication focusing on civic affairs and local government coverage.

Now — four years later — they have a new mobile website. While a responsive design would have been adequate we decided to go the extra mile and create a new mobile theme. Responsive designs take the existing layout and adapt it to multiple different screen sizes. It’s an effective technique in the right situation but we knew mobile news needs a unique approach. By using an custom mobile theme we were able to strip out non-critical content improving page load time, redesign the navigation for easier mobile use and optimizing the homepage for scanning the latest headlines.

Overall it seems like a smashing success. Can you tell we’re proud?

Innovative Publisher Gets Innovative Website

June 27, 2012 – Ann Arbor Michigan — How often does a creative company get the opportunity to test their creative limits? Not very often. We are ecstatic to launch a project that tested our knowledge of design, coding and capabilities on the web. MoffPress, a bleeding edge publisher that’s reinventing the way we read fiction came to us because they wanted a website that was like none other. Their innovative “story diver” books gave us an idea and we ran with it.

The new books operate on the idea of immersing yourself in a story. We figured we could bring that feeling to the web. Combining javascript, CSS3 animation and parallax scrolling we created a website that simulates the idea of falling through a rich story. Words can only do so much, check out the website and see for yourself.
